The Wilting Pathogen Panel™ is designed to test for pathogens associated with unexplained wilting and vascular or root dysfunction. This multiplex qPCR pathogen panel assay screens for Pythium myriotylum, Fusarium oxysporum, and Hop Latent Viroid (HLVd) in a single test, reducing guesswork, cost, and diagnostic time.

The Wilting Pathogen Panel™ is a multiplex molecular diagnostic assay developed to investigate infectious causes of plant droop, loss of turgor, and sudden collapse that cannot be explained by irrigation or nutrient management alone. These symptoms are frequently misattributed to watering or feeding issues, allowing pathogens that impair root function or vascular transport to persist undetected.

This panel simultaneously detects:

  • Pythium myriotylum, an aggressive root pathogen associated with damping-off and rapid root system failure that disrupts water uptake.
  • Fusarium oxysporum, a vascular fungal pathogen that restricts water movement and contributes to chronic wilt and plant decline.
  • Hop Latent Viroid (HLVd), which can exacerbate physiological stress responses and contribute to collapse under environmental or operational pressure.
