HLV Shield™ is a 3-in-1 qPCR pathogen panel that screens for Hop Latent Viroid (HLVd), Fusarium oxysporum, and Pythium myriotylum in a single test. Designed for cannabis and hemp operations, HLV Shield™ delivers fast, accurate detection to identify hidden infections early, reduce crop loss, and lower testing costs by combining three critical assays into one.

HLV Shield™ is a multiplex molecular diagnostic assay developed to address the most damaging and commonly co-occurring pathogens in cannabis cultivation. Hop Latent Viroid (HLVd) is widely recognized as the most destructive pathogen in cannabis and often presents with mild or no visible symptoms, allowing infections to spread undetected. Because HLVd rarely occurs alone, relying on single-pathogen testing can leave cultivators exposed to additional, compounding threats.

This 3-in-1 panel simultaneously detects:

  • Hop Latent Viroid (HLVd), a single-strand, circular infectious RNA associated with reduced vigor, yield loss, and diminished cannabinoid and terpene production.
  • Fusarium oxysporum, a soilborne fungal pathogen that causes vascular wilt, root rot, and plant decline.
  • Pythium myriotylum, a highly aggressive root pathogen responsible for damping-off and rapid root system failure.

Using sensitive and specific qPCR technology, HLV Shield™ provides reliable early detection from a single sample with rapid turnaround times. The panel is ideal for mother stock testing, clone and nursery screening, incoming plant verification, and routine facility monitoring.

For Plant Pathogen Detection services and Phenotype Selection Support services: less than 72 hours from the arrival of samples to the lab. For DNA Fingerprinting services: less than 24 samples take 1-4 weeks, and 24 samples or more take 5-15 days.
You will receive your results through our client portal, MyFloraCLOUD.
You can submit a cannabis sample order through our website by following the instructions in the collection kit that we provide. The kit includes everything you need to collect samples, as well as an instructional guide and a QR code leading to our online collection guide.
MyFloraDNA offers lab services exclusively for testing cannabis plants with THC levels below 0.3%. If we receive samples with THC levels above this limit, we’ll have to dispose of them to stay compliant with the law. Please note that even if the sample is disposed of, you’ll still be responsible for covering the full testing cost.
You can pay using your account balance, debit card, or credit card. We process payments using Quickbooks Payments and Authorize.
Customers may cancel orders and request refunds prior to the shipment of materials from the Company. Refunds are unavailable once materials have been shipped. To request a refund, clients must provide a receipt or proof of purchase. Refunds will be processed to the original form of payment within 10 days of approval.
