IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Please read the entire instructions carefully before taking your samples. If you still have questions, contact us prior to collecting your samples.

Please DO NOT use true leaves, use cotyledons (round leaves) to get the best sample.

Samples collected using our protocols are free of any viable plant material and regulated substances. MyFloraDNA does not accept samples containing viable plant material which could be propogated or any regulated substances  .

Label each of your plants with a unique ID.

Do not use scissors, hands or hole puncher to collect samples.

Sample Collection Instructions

INDIVIDUAL TUBES

1

Cut a cotyledon leaf with tweezers (not provided) and place it in the collection tube.

2

Crush the sample with the thinnest part of the spatula provided (discard spatula after use)

3

Close the collection tube and place it back to the same envelope provided.

4

Place the stake provided into your seedling trays or pots.

5

Spray and dry your tweezers with alcohol (not provided) to prevent cross-contamination.

6

Repeat steps 1-5 for each sample.

PLATE

1

Cut one cotyledon leaf with tweezers (not provided) and place it in the first well (A1) of the plate. Only cut the cotyledon to provide accurate results.

Crush the sample with the thinnest part of the disposable single use spatula provided and discard after use.

Place the stake provided into your seedling trays or pots.

Spray and dry your tweezers with alcohol (not provided) to prevent cross-contamination.

Repeat steps 1-4 for each sample.

Place the second sample in the well B1—the third sample in the well C1, and so on until the well H11. 

Do not use the last column of the plate (A12 to H12). These wells are used for positive and negative controls.
